Amrut 6 Years Old // Ex-Rye Barrel // Copper & Oak Series III
To close out Series III, we present something truly unique, a 6-year-old cask of Indian single malt whisky, matured in a cask used previously for 100% rye whisky, distilled at Amrut Distillery in Bangalore, and imported by our late-founded Aedan Burt.
The artwork by Scottish artist Orla Stevens features the Atakur Inscription, an stone dating from around the year 950 which was originally erected outside the Chelleshvara Temple, located around 42km from the modern-day Amrut Distillery. The stone commemorates a beloved pet hound called Kali, who was killed defending his master from a wild boar during a hunt, or in the case of this particular Fib Whisky - a "Pictish" boar!
The Copper & Oak series showcases the first half of each tasty single cask, BEFORE they are given a funky finish.
